Warmest greetings! On behalf of everyone at Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu College Kolhapur (RCSCK), I extend a heartfelt welcome to our college family. By "family," we mean everyone – faculty, administrative staff, non-teaching staff, and most importantly, our students and their parents.

Following in the Footsteps of a Visionary

RCSCK is a part of the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, founded in 1919 by the late Padmabhushan Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil, also known as "Anna." A visionary leader dedicated to the masses, Anna's mission was to educate the underprivileged, especially the poor, downtrodden, and marginalized sections of society. The Sanstha's motto, "Education through self-help," emphasizes the dignity of labor and its commitment to social responsibility. Celebrating its centenary year in 2019, the Sanstha has made an immense contribution to education by prioritizing the educational needs of the most disadvantaged communities.

A Legacy of Excellence at RCSCK

Established in 1961, RCSCK, named after the great social reformer Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur, recently received reaccreditation with an 'A++' grade (CGPA 3.78) by NAAC Bangalore in its fourth cycle. We offer a wide range of programs, including undergraduate degrees in Arts, Commerce, Science, and BCA, as well as postgraduate programs in English, Physical Chemistry, and Analytical Chemistry. With over a thousand students enrolled in the 2020-2021 academic year, we also boast a thriving junior college wing with streams in all three disciplines.

Beyond Academics: A Well-Rounded Experience

RCSCK provides a well-equipped and supportive environment for learning. Our facilities include spacious classrooms, modern laboratories (including a language lab and five computer labs), an administrative block, a conference hall, and excellent sports facilities featuring a 400-meter running track and an international-level swimming pool named after the late national swimming champion Sagar Patil. We also offer a Competitive Examination Guidance Centre, an Earn and Learn Scheme, NCC, NSS, Gymkhana, 22 short-term courses, and an active placement and counseling cell dedicated to student development. Additionally, RCSCK fosters a strong sports culture, particularly in Kabaddi and wrestling, with international coaches guiding our teams. We have a history of outstanding achievements, winning numerous state, national, and international awards in these sports.

A Vision for the Future

Our faculty is research-oriented, with several members holding university recognition as research guides in Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, History, and English. We have a recognized Chemistry research laboratory by Shivaji University Kolhapur. Committed to continuous improvement, RCSCK is actively pursuing new initiatives. We are introducing a B.Sc. Microbiology undergraduate program and M.Sc. Statistics program in the 2022-23 academic year. Additionally, we are planning to establish a Skill Development Centre, launch a CBSE English Medium School, and construct a well-equipped conference hall named after our esteemed mentor, Late Prof. Dr. N.D. Patil Saheb. This conference hall will house a rich library and a dedicated section showcasing the numerous awards and honors he received. While these plans are ambitious, we are confident in their successful implementation.

Under the guidance of our dedicated stakeholders, including ;Mr. Chandrakant Dalvi , Mrs. Saroj (Mai) Patil, Mrs.Sangita Prashant Patil, Mr. Prashant Patil,Dr. M.B. Shaikh, Dr. Yashwant Thorat, Vikrant Patil, Dr. T.S. Patil, the College Development Council, and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, RCSCK is marching towards excellence.
