Objectives

- Teaching, research and extension programme in the Indian
History in the context of world history.
- To acquaint students with Indian ethos along with a critical understanding of Indian Society, Economy and Culture.
- To empower student to cope with challenges of Globalization.
- To establish a centre for Historical Studies, Research and Cultural heritage in near future.
- To criticize the current issues and events with morally by the students.
- To aware about new trends in the contest of Indian as well as world.
- To study objectively about Socio-Eco-Political movements and civil society activities in India and Maharashtra.

Programme specific outcomes

(On completion of the BA (History) special, students will be able to)
- Understand the basic themes, concepts, chronology and the Scope of Indian History.
- Acquaint with range of issues related to Indian History that span distinct eras.
- Understand the history of countries other than India with comparative approach.
- Think and argue historically and critically in writing and discussion.
- Prepare for various types of Competitive Examinations
- Critically recognize the Social, Political, Economic and Cultural aspects of History.
- Identify how the Indian culture had been contributed to the world human civilization through the Ages.
- Understand values of unity in diversity, multiculturalism, multi-religiosity, secularism and humanism which are inherited in Indian Culture and upheld by our Constitution.
