Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu College,Kolhapur,a renowned co-educational institution in Kolhapur has already completed sixty years of excellence. Having its inception in1961, the college boasts of having been founded by a great academician and visionary philanthropist, and great social reformer, LatePadmabhushanDr.KarmaveerBhaurao Patil.Located in Sadarbazar, Kadamwadi Road ,Kolhapur ,the college has a beautiful ambience with playground, an imposing library and well equipped Swimming Pool of International Level. It is affiliated to the Shivaji UniversityKolhapur. The college caters to the needs of financially deprived and educationally backwardstudents as is the mission of the RayatShikshan Sanstha, offering graduation in Humanities, Commerce and Science and Postgraduation in English,
Chemistry along with COC, Skill Development and vocational courses. The college maintains a rare blend of tradition and modernity.The college has carved its name in the list of quality colleges in Kolhapur as many of its alumni have fetched academic success at the University level. Apart from the spacious campus,the college has an impressive Gymkhana which has fetched Laurels in various sports and games, wrestling being its speciality. Recently a Swimming Pool of International level named after the star swimmer Late Sagar Patil has really added to the glories of the Gymkhana.We have a spacious playground with 400 metre track providing a strong infrastructure to our players.At present,the college is headed by, Principal and progressing by leaps and bounds under his dynamic leadership. A dedicated Trust, a dynamic Principal, and a highly qualified faculty strive hard to develop the all-round personality of the students.The college was re-accredited with grade “A” by NAAC in 2017.
